Whitford Country Club

Deluxe Surfacing, an ATC Company, completed a comprehensive tennis court conversion project at Whitford Country Club in Exton, Pennsylvania, upgrading three existing traditional Har-Tru courts to state-of-the-art HydroCourts. The project focused on modernizing the club’s clay court facilities while preserving the classic playing characteristics members expect, all while significantly improving surface consistency, moisture management, and long-term performance. This conversion was designed to elevate the overall player experience and reduce the operational challenges typically associated with conventional clay courts.

The scope of work included the removal and reconfiguration of the existing Har-Tru court systems and the installation of a HydroCourt subsurface irrigation system beneath each playing surface. This advanced system allows moisture to be delivered evenly from below, resulting in a more uniform surface, improved stability, and reduced susceptibility to dry spots or over-watering. The HydroCourt design also enhances water efficiency and minimizes surface disruption, allowing the courts to remain playable for longer periods throughout the day and across varying weather conditions.

By converting to HydroCourts, Whitford Country Club gained courts that require less daily maintenance while offering superior playability and durability. The finished surfaces provide consistent ball response, excellent traction, and a premium clay-court experience that meets the expectations of both recreational and competitive players.
